How delicious we drove 30 kilometers from Colonia into the Uruguayan countryside, and the last few kilometers along a bumpy dirt road with curious Hereford cows and a lonely em to the Los Cerros distillery. Marcelo shows us the architecture around the winery and the original 1850s architecture and barrels, then prepares us for a wonderful tasting and lunch in the beautiful autumn sun in front of the tasting room/shop. We tried 3 delicious local red wines including cheese and cut meat, we ate fresh oysters and homemade sauces and finished the incredible caramel caramel with a spoonful. Absolutely paradise
