Chengdu Cultural Park was rebuilt on the former site of Erxian Nunnery in 1951, covering an area of 150 mu. The Cultural Park is a comprehensive park that mainly holds various cultural activities. There are various flowers, bonsai, exotic trees and plants in the park. The annual Chengdu Lantern Festival and Chengdu Flower Festival are well-known both at home and abroad, and have lasted for more than 100 years. During the Lantern Festival and Flower Festival, a variety of cultural performances, calligraphy, painting and photography exhibitions and local famous snacks are also held. There is also the Twelve Bridges Martyrs' Tombs in the park, which commemorate the tombs of 36 martyrs who were secretly killed by secret agents on the eve of the liberation of Chengdu. It is a provincial cultural relics protection unit.
