We are originally from New York so we have quite a lot of Chinese cuisine. Shenhua is as good as everything we have anywhere and in many cases, better! The restaurant is located on Berkeley&#39;s Corday Avenue, spacious and has an active bar (and a very enjoyable moment where you can enjoy cheap cocktails and appetizers and have the opportunity to taste their amazing pot stickers! Service has always been timely and friendly - we love Edward, the owner and his new manager, Jose, very capable. But people have been here for years because the food here is unforgettable. Some of their specialties are hot rice soup (we had a big family party at the restaurant last week and they said it was the best soup they had ever had!) Smoked tea tree duck, their version of Peking duck (the accompanying bread is softer and better than pancakes), garlic chicken - delicious, My favorite, garlic sprouts, a real treat. People come to Berkeley for many reasons...when you are here, visit Shenhua and strengthen your stay. You will be back!,

I give this five stars because sushi is delicious and the price is fair. If I stay closer, I will stay there at least three times a week. When you enter the restaurant and sit down at a small table or bar, you can order at the counter. They offer beer and wine, as well as takeaway counters. We stayed in Claremont and I walked a bit along Russell Street to the university where I found the place. It was a nice walk with lots of small shops. So if you live in Claremont and want better food options then go to the hotel restaurant, walk along Russell, after lunch or dinner, if you don&rsquo;t want to go, take a taxi or Uber back to the hotel. It&rsquo;s a bit steep to walk up. Not fancy, good food and reasonable price. My food in the picture below is 12.74 USD, excluding tips.
