Atomium Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Atomium
It's amazing! A real work of art, engineering and architecture. I've always been amazed by it, but, unfortunately, I never got the chance to visit inside. Indeed a very unique building that was much bigger than I was expecting and visually stunning. Such an amazing building constructed over 70 years ago for the 58th Expo. looking at it just makes me think of the architect who designed this majestic building with all those different dome towers. Imagine how much effort was put into connecting them. It still looks very shinny to me. I believe a lot of maintenance has been done to it to keep this fresh look.

Atomium, one of the most popular landmarks in Brussels, Belgium. It was created for the 1958 world expo which was held in Brussels.
Walked from Gare du Nord for about 25 minutes to Grand Place and from there we took Metro Line 6 to Heysel/Heizel.
The Atomium is just a few steps away from the Heysel/Heizel station.
The history of Atomium was very interesting. I read it before I visited the place and it was really worth it!

What a Place!

Brussels, Belgium is just a 2 and a half hour ride by bus from Amsterdam. It is faster by train but the bus was cheaper 😁 although train is definitely more comfortable but we wanted to try the bus ride experience to be able to compare it on what to take on our next vacation 😊
One of the reasons why we wanted to go to Brussels was to see the Atomium which is the most popular landmark in the city!
We saw the Atomium at day time but we went there during night and it was more beautiful with all the lights on. The lights gave more life and charms to the object which is the Atomium.
Brussels was a very interesting place. We had an exciting experience that we won‘t forget for the rest of our lives 😅

Ghent Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Belgian quiet town
leave Bruges back to Brussels, take the Euro train to get off at Dampoort station in Ghent, only this station has a large space storage, Saint-Pierre station will not work. If time is tight, the city can't go because it is the smallest and most depressed compared to Antwerp, Bruges and Brussels.
Maybe it was Monday when we arrived, many shops on the street didn't open, and many shops were closed down. The windows were waiting for rest, which was the worst in Europe for 15 days. There are a small number of houseboats in the empty river
. It has been a long time to reach the bustling old town center, the Gravenstein Castle, St. Buff's Cathedral, and the City Hall. It is better to see the old buildings on the street. .
Occasionally opened the door on both sides of the road, bought the same gold bag as Mijas, the owner of the old lady with a silver hair, wrapped a particularly nice package for me.
The uncle who sells sugar on the street especially has a fan, dressed as an actor; a person walks on the street, inadvertently walks to a graffiti alley, full of pits are full of three-dimensional graffiti.
is also a special experience different from tourist cities

"The fairy tale world in the afternoon" Ghent
Ghent, the second largest city in Belgium, once a wealthy commercial city, now a university city where intellectuals and highly educated people gather, and bring people into the fairy tale world This is the St. Nicholas Church in the heart of the old city!
is a solemn building that emphasizes power and momentum. It can be seen at first sight, but it is extremely dreamy!
Because of the use of a special blue-gray stone, the entire church is different in color from the general architecture, and it is like a castle in a fairy tale world against the blue sky!
Standing on the bridge of Saint Michel, the breeze, the whole person feels relaxed and happy! The vanilla river bank under the bridge Graslei is the favorite riverside avenue for the locals!
This Mont Saint-Michel bridge across the Lee River, along with the surrounding medieval buildings, forms one of the most beautiful scenery in Belgium! In Europe, the name "Saint Michel" is a charming place!
Transportation: The train station is under the tram center
Ghent is a port city with an excellent harbor and a must-see for entering Brussels. This medieval town is said to have witnessed the birth of more than half of the world's gods. The canal that runs through the old town, like a soft ties, is passionately wrapped around here. People sit, walk, chat, basking in the sun, drinking beer along the banks of the canal, as if the outside world has nothing to do with them, enjoying everything in front of them.
Every time a new city arrives, it is almost always at night. The city of Ghent gave me a different feeling from Antwerp, probably because there are many canals here. Unlike the atmosphere of Antwerp, it is more like a small town in a water town. A friend of the same group said that if you have been to Bruges, you may not feel that Gent is good. Because I haven't been to Bruges, I can't compare them, but I feel that Ghent is also good from the bottom of my heart. It is the tone I like.
Ghent is the capital of Belgium's East Flanders province. It has an excellent harbor and is a must-see for entering Brussels. The former Ghent was a prosperous city with a very developed business. But nowadays it is more famous here is the famous university Ghent University. There are many intellectuals living in the city.

Download the Rail Planner "Rail Planner" for the departures and time from Brussels to Rotterdam, from our stay at the Hotel Amigo in Brussels, 5 minutes walk to Brussels Central Station, directly with the activated Europass Get on the train. Of course, because we were the first European free traveler after all, I was unfamiliar with some of the signs in the station and almost missed the train. Fortunately, I asked the conductors in time, and the whole trip was quite shocking!
There are fewer people in the car and the view of the window is good. After two hours, we are lowering Rotterdam.

Open the window and you will see the most beautiful B&B in Brussels in the Town Hall Tower!
List: Grand Place Brussels Flats 5
Dating room rate: RMB 400/person/night, one suite
Experience:
The most amazing scene is a living room with a simple, Nordic decoration, especially the chandelier in the room. There are also 2 in the kitchen, and the reflections on the wall are very dreamy!
The attention to detail is prepared for each guest with water and snacks!
The whole house has 2 floors, the living room and kitchen are on the 1st floor, the bedroom, bathroom and shower room are on the 2nd floor! The overall space is very large, and the B&B on the upper and lower floors has the feeling of a villa!
On the second floor of the bedroom sill, you can see the landmark building in Brussels by pushing the window: Brussels City Hall! The tower in the sunset is especially beautiful! As the camera zooms in, you can see the patron saint of Brussels, the golden statue of Saint Michel, 5 meters high!
B&B is in an excellent location: just 2 minutes walk from the Grand Place in Brussels, its a step away from the meal!
Tips, close to the window sill bedroom, you must close the window when you sleep at night! Because the city center of Brussels is still in the middle of the night, many tourists are still in the big square, and it is very lively!
