Chiang Kai-shek's Barrack

This courtyard building, which combines Chinese and Western elements, is Chiang Kai-shek's "mansion" in the capital. In the Qing Dynasty, it was the residence of Zai Min, the second son of the Qing Prince, Zai Min. Zai Min was a famous dude in the capital at that time. It is said that he built this place specially for the favor of the famous prostitute "Little Hong Bao". . Shortly after the house was built, it was resold and became the office of a French company. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, it became Chiang Kai-shek's line again. In December 1945, Chiang Kai-shek came to Peiping to offer condolences to his compatriots in the north; in September 1948, he came to Peiping to deal with the "Liaoshen Campaign" and stayed here twice. After the founding of New China, the North China Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Yugoslav Embassy in China, and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries were successively established here. Now it is a unit directly under the Central Office and is not open to the public. You can only look at the dome of the Western-style building in the courtyard through the gray wall, and imagine the bustling scene of the past.
