"Tianguan·Yingren" mentioned "the food of the four scorpions of the palm of the scorpion... scorpion, abalone, scorpion", here and the more famous "Analect" "abalone's wanton", all said salted fish. The reference to "squid" in "Hanshu Wang Mang Chuan" can be regarded as an earlier record of eating abalone in ancient China (read as bao)
