Bangkok City Pillar Shrine Photos

The Bangkok National Pillar Temple is located at the southeast corner of Wangjiatian Square, at the junction of LakMuang Road and RatchadamnoenNai Road. The wooden pillars in the temple represent Lak Meuang, the protector of the city of Bangkok, and were the pillars that laid the foundation for King Rama I when he built the city. The entire temple is small, and the locals sit quietly in front of the pillars and pray. In addition, there are often people dancing traditional dances here, mostly elderly aunts. Check it out if you come across it. The temple is very close to Wangjiatian Square and the Grand Palace and can be visited together.
