What people are saying:

As New Zealand's first regional park open to tourists, Wenderholm is a real treasure. Few people can find such a rich natural environment. It is located on the main road in Orewa and is clearly signposted and easily accessible from Auckland. Windholm has estuaries, seaside walks, beaches, picturesque sea shelters and spectacular lookout points. Jungle trails, water sports, good parking, clean toilets and showers, and open historic houses. The extension road has well-marked paths that can satisfy most tourists, especially in the tranquility of this Eden-like environment. The birds on the trails are an inspiring catalyst. The headland of the park is located between the Puhoi and Waiwera rivers, with picturesque views from every corner. The quiet sandy beach offers stunning views of Hauraki Bay, while the pohutukawa tree overlooking the beach provides welcome shade during the hot months. Many walking trails start from the Couldrey House just past, which is the best way to appreciate the environment. Te Akeake trail is a 30-minute trail, Maungatauhoro Te Hikoi is 90 minutes’ walk, and the surrounding walk takes about two and a half hours

I have passed by this but never entered before now. Its well worth a visit. The historic homestead in the grounds is a must see. I didn't know there were baches there to lease as well.
