Iconic Ferry Building, at the foot of Market Street, has been the gateway symbol to San Francisco along with the Golden Gate Bridge for decades. With the "Port of San Francisco" emblazened on its bay facing side in large lighted letters, it has been the ferry port for trans bay ferries from Marin and the east bay. Lately, it has turned into a shopping and dining center fir tourists and licals alike.
Located near the Britomart Train Station (at the bottom of Queen St.), the ferry terminal is a transportation hub for a variety of ferries and tour boats, many of which provide service to suburbs. The old building is a historic landmark.
