How can I not go to the beach to play in Auckland, New Zealand? This time I went to find a small play. She took me to several of the more famous local beaches, Karekare, Piha, Anawhata, Bethells and Muriwai. The most popular beach is Piha, but on hot summer weekends, the beach is very crowded. And of course we chose to avoid the crowds! So she brought me to this relatively unknown beach Anawhata. The great thing about Anawhata is that it has the same beautiful scenery as Piha but not very popular. It even has its own mini version of Lion Rock, which we are exploring around at low tide. Of course, we also paid a small price for the sparsely populated landscape, along a steep road to the beach in some places. It takes about 30 minutes to walk slowly. But once we got to this beach, we had a big sea view alone, no one else, only the sun beach and us. We didn't go to the sea because we didn't bring good equipment.
