And it houses 45 pieces of Mi Fu's handwritten calligraphy copied by his descendants in the 8th year of Yongzheng in the Qing Dynasty (1730), and 145 other inscriptions.

🌟Mi Fu's lifelong calligraphy is the most diligent, and his achievement is the greatest in running script. In the famous collections of the Southern Song Dynasty, most of them are engraved with his legal books, which are widely spread and have a far-reaching impact. Among the 'Four Great Calligraphers of the Northern Song Dynasty', he can be regarded as the first. Kang Youwei once said: 'Tang Yan structure, Song Shang Yiqu.' It means that Song Dynasty calligraphers pay attention to interest and personality, and Mi Fu is particularly prominent in this regard.
Mi Fu was good at poetry, fine appraisal, and good at calligraphy and painting. He got the pen intention of Wang Xianzhi, especially the line and grass, and was called 'Song Four Houses' with Cai Xiang, Su Shi, and Huang Tingjian. The landscape painting is based on Dong Yuan, but it has a new idea, mostly with ink and wash, focusing on interest rather than meticulousness, and it is called 'Mi Shi Yun Shan'. He likes to collect gold and stone antiques, especially strange stones. His works include 'Bao Jin Ying Guang Ji', 'Painting History', 'Book History', 'Bao Jin Dai Fang Lu', etc.

Everyone should have a "first mountain" in their heart. Maybe it is not the highest or the most beautiful, but it must be the one you are most determined to climb and the warmest when you look back. It is an irreplaceable coordinate on your spiritual map.
This area primarily features the Mi family's ancestral hall, along with some stone carvings. It's perfect for those who enjoy history, especially those who appreciate the historical context. We wandered around for about an hour, but Xiangyang was incredibly hot. 🔥🔥🔥
The price-performance ratio is very high. I think it's not bad to be able to see such a large building for just a few dozen yuan. Of course, the Migong Temple is not large in size, and an hour is enough to appreciate it slowly. It is more suitable as a supplementary attraction. However, I think the building is still very distinctive and suitable for taking the elderly for a walk without getting tired.
Mi Gong Temple, formerly known as Mi Jia An, is located in Fancheng District, Xiangyang, Hubei. It was built to commemorate Mi Fu, a calligrapher and painter in the Northern Song Dynasty in ancient China. The temple is well-arranged with pavilions, corridors, winding gardens, lotus ponds, small bridges and flowing water... Two nearly 500-year-old ginkgo trees are towering, and the sweet-scented osmanthus is fragrant for ten miles. The gallery displays more than 100 stone carvings of the four masters Mi, Su, Huang and Cai, all of which are treasures. Visiting Mi Gong Temple allows us to further understand Mi Gong's lifelong love, his obsession with playing with stones, his calligraphy and painting that express his feelings for the mountains and rivers, etc. Mi Gong Temple is more like a private residence in the old days than a temple. The visit takes 2 to 3 hours.
It is worth a visit. The courtyard is elegant, the garden is quiet, and there are precious stone carvings and stone tablets, which are rare. Opposite is the crossing wharf. You can take a boat across the river to visit the museum, then visit the ancient city of Xiangfan, and climb the Madam City at dusk to see the beautiful sunset over the Han River. This is a classic half-day itinerary, with humanities, history, monuments, shopping streets, natural scenery, snacks and shopping. It is not tiring and economical, suitable for all ages.
In the season of sweet osmanthus, you can visit Hubei. The Xiangyang Mi Gong Temple is located by the river, with pavilions, towers, small bridges and flowing water, which is a typical Jiangnan garden scenery. In addition to appreciating the calligraphy of the calligrapher Mi Fu, such as the First Mountain, there are two large ginkgo trees in the garden that are worth remembering. The sweet fragrance of sweet osmanthus fills the garden, which is a wonderful enjoyment to accompany the garden tour. The garden is not big, but it is small and exquisite, elegant and unique.
I have heard of Mi Fu's fame, so I decided to take a look when I came to Xiangyang. I am probably not a calligraphy lover, as I could not resonate with many calligraphy masterpieces. The scenery in the garden is nice.
1. The architectural layout and architectural style are different from most family ancestral halls and clan ancestral halls. There are fewer clan ritual buildings, but more cultural and open things, and tourists are more relaxed. The buildings are mainly on the central axis. The East Garden and West Garden on both sides are gardens and ponds. The scale is also large and the environment is very good. The scenic area has also introduced various cultural and creative interactive activities with a certain degree of participation. Night tours were also held during the National Day. 2. In addition to viewing the architecture and gardens, the main thing about Mi Gong Temple is to appreciate calligraphy. The calligraphy of many famous masters and masters is nourishing, and there is also a lot of fun participation. Find the way to write your own name in the calligraphy. The more famous you are, the more fun you will have. Try it!
