Unfortunately, we missed the cherry blossom season in winter, which greatly diminished the scenery, a real shame. However, to make up for it, we saw Siberian red-billed gulls that winter here, circling the tour boat and chasing after food thrown by tourists – quite amusing! 😁

We went after the Spring Festival, and there weren't too many people, so the overall experience was quite good. Although the cherry blossoms were gone, we took a boat to feed the red-billed gulls, and the whole family had a great time!

In January, Yuantouzhu is like a cluster of flickering flames hidden within a winter landscape painting. When morning mist blankets the lake, Taihu Lake resembles crumpled silver silk, suddenly a white shadow pierces the air—a red-billed gull plunges into the crest of a wave, snatches a silver fish, and soars high again, water droplets trembling from its wingtips splashing onto the boat's side, shattering into a clear, laughing spectacle. As the boat moves, hundreds of gulls chase the waves, some gliding close to the surface like silver arrows, others suddenly swooping down to snatch food, their sharp cries colliding with the crashing waves, creating a vibrant scene across the lake. Icicles hang from the eaves of the ancient temple, while winter plum blossoms stubbornly bloom, draped in a thin layer of frost. Their golden petals tremble in the cold wind, their subtle fragrance mingling with the bitter scent of pine needles, wafting straight to the nose. Deep in the bamboo grove, an orange cat curls up on a stone bench, basking in the sun, its tail swaying gently in the breeze. Even passing sparrows dare to perch at its feet, tilting their heads to peck at scraps. Climbing to a high vantage point, the distant mountains appear as if lightly brushed with ink, while the lake surface shimmers with tiny golden lights. As the wind brushes past your ears, carrying the coolness of moisture, the vibrant scene before you—the graceful seagulls chasing the waves, the penetrating fragrance of plum blossoms, the languid warmth of a cat—makes you forget the chill. From late November to mid-March of the following year, Wuxi Taihu Yuantouzhu Scenic Area will welcome a romantic date - Siberian red-billed gulls. These elves from afar add a touch of vitality to Taihu Lake in autumn and winter. As soon as you enter the scenic area, go straight to the lake. Wow😍, flocks of red-billed gulls are circling in the air, as if welcoming us. Their white feathers shine in the sun, and their red beaks are particularly playful. 💖Walking into Wuxi Yuantouzhu, we can not only watch the elegant posture of the red-billed gulls up close, but also feel the profound cultural heritage and natural beauty behind them. 🚢 Boat experience: Choose to walk for half an hour to the boat boarding point, or take a sightseeing bus (30 yuan).
