Pitfall Tips (Locals’ Advice)
⚠️ Don’t trust the "VIP Fast Track" at Yuantouzhu; buying tickets on-site by scanning QR code is most reliable;
⚠️ For Huishan clay figurines, recognize the old brands "Wang Nanlin" and "Jiang Rongxing"; many vendors outside the scenic area sell mass-produced items;
⚠️ Refuse electric speedboats on Bodu Port tours; only choose black-awning boats rowed by old boatmen in blue cloth shirts;
⚠️ Be cautious buying "consecrated Buddhist beads" at Nanchan Temple; many are Yiwu-made goods;
⚠️ For Dangkou "Qianshi Cake," prefer those freshly made by grandmas; many scenic area shops sell vacuum-packed factory products.

The depth of Wuxi is not under the cherry blossom trees crowded at Yuantouzhu, but in the dust untouched on the beams of Huishan ancestral halls, in the thousand-year shadows swaying on the waters of Bodu Port, and in the faint smoke rising from a cup of Biluochun tea on the terrace of Lenong Villa. Five days and four nights, slow down, and you will understand: the true pearl of Taihu Lake is not in the noisy places, but in the slight warmth you feel at your fingertips when a grandma hands you a piece of warm fried tofu.
