Gude Temple, located at No. 74, Landslide, Huangpu Road, Hankou, Wuhan, Hubei Province, was founded by Long Xi in 1877, originally named Gude Thatched Hut. Between 1914 and 1919, the temple was expanded twice by its abbot, Chang Hong, and renamed Gude Temple, which means "to cherish the ancients and to save all with virtue." The name was inscribed on a plaque by Li Yuanhong himself. The temple covers nearly 30,000 square meters, with a building area of nearly 8,000 square meters. It blends European and Asian religious architectural features, integrating the three major Buddhist schools of Mahayana, Hinayana, and Tibetan Buddhism. This is a rare sight among Chinese Buddhist temples, and is considered "a great wonder of Buddhist sites" and "the greatest wonder of Chinese Buddhist temples." It holds high architectural, cultural, and historical research value. Along with Guiyuan Temple, Baotong Temple, and Lianxi Temple, it is considered one of the four great Buddhist monasteries in Wuhan.
This is a small attraction, perfect for young people taking photos. Tickets are 13 yuan, and there's no parking available. If you drive, you can park at the nearby military hospital parking lot. The area is small, and the architecture has a European feel.
Gude Temple is located in the Jiang'an District of Wuhan, is a unique and charming century-old temple. The following is about its travel experience and real evaluation: The architectural style is amazing. The architectural style of Gude Temple is a must, known as the "first wonder of Han Chuan Buddhist Temple". Its main building Yuantong Temple integrates the characteristics of Eurasian religious architecture, with Gothic spires, Roman arches, Islamic-style arch petal coupons, etc., and Chinese-style lotus square piers, algae wells and other elements, like a miniature "Museum of World Architecture". It makes people feel like they are in a foreign country, and they can feel the oriental Zen, and every detail is worth savoring. This is a paradise for photographers, whether it is capturing the architectural details of the staggered light and shadow, or taking pictures with a unique architectural background, you can get amazing results. The corridors of the Guanyin Palace and the pigeons on the square are all popular seats. Every shot is very popular, as if you can shoot a blockbuster that spans time and space. The atmosphere is quiet and healing. Stepping into the Gude Temple, as if entering a world isolated, can make people instantly forget the noise of the world. Here, you can sit on the benches of the square, watch the pigeons fly, listen to the chanting, feel the peace and tranquility of the heart. The staff and volunteers at the temple are also very friendly, making people feel a warm and peaceful. The cultural and creative products of Gude Temple are also very bright, such as the sour plum soup, ice cream, honey water designed by the temple, not only taste good, but also have Zen truth, both practical and commemorative significance, deeply loved by tourists. There are some shortcomings The area of Gude Temple is relatively small, the main buildings are only a few such as the Temple of Heavenly Kings and the Yuantong Temple. The tour time is relatively short. If you go specifically, you may feel that the price is not high. In addition, as a place for Internet celebrities to check in, there are many tourists, especially in popular seats, and you need to wait in line to take pictures, which may affect the play experience. Overall, the Goud Temple is a place worth visiting, with its unique architectural style, tranquil atmosphere and rich cultural and creative products, bringing a different travel experience to tourists. If you are interested in architectural art, Buddhist culture, or just looking for a quiet place to relax, the Temple of Good will not disappoint you.
Not in a foreign country! In Wuhan! A temple with Eurasian religious architectural features |||🕍Gude Temple combines the architectural styles of many Western countries and is known as the "Little Angkor Wat". Don't get me wrong, it is a Buddhist temple! 🛕It integrates Chinese traditional culture with the architectural styles of the Indian-Myanmar Ananda Temple and the Indian Panava Temple. It is a unique Buddhist temple in the world. When you come to this century-old temple, you will feel like you are in Europe! 🗺️Play guide: There are three main buildings in the temple, and the tour time is about 1 hour🌻Summer time: 08:00-16:30❄️Winter time: 08:30-16:00🏛️Tianwang Hall: white walls and black tiles, Hui style architecture. 🕍Zhongyuantong Hall: Ionic columns plus Gothic arches, rose windows, nine staggered pagodas, and exquisite wall reliefs. 📸Photography recommendation: 🪑Square bench: Sit down and you can take a panoramic photo with the Gude Temple 🕍Second floor of the building next to the Gude Temple: The window facing the Gude Temple at the end is the best (the window at the end of the aisle). Lean out as much as possible from the window facing the square 🛕Stand in front of the temple on the square and shoot your back 💃Shoot people and parts of the Gude Temple, you can use telephoto and portrait mode, it's very photogenic 🎫Ticket: 13r, buy tickets online in advance 📍Address: No. 24, Gongnongbing Road, Jiang'an District, Wuhan 🚇Transportation: Metro Line 1, Toudao Street, Exit C/Metro Line 3, Luojiazhuang, Exit B, walk 1.5km⌚️Opening hours: 8:00-16:30 (summer) TIPS:🌟Go as early as possible, otherwise there will be a lot of tourists. All my photos are taken from angles that try to avoid the crowd. You can refer to it🌟The Yuantong Hall faces northwest. It is backlit in the morning, but the light is very good after 2 pm. The temple is a perfect match against the sunset🌟A religious holy place, dress civilized, respect Buddhist rules, and pay attention to your clothes.

Very exotic temple, worth a visit [Scenery] Very good photo taking and checking in, easy to pretend to be abroad. If you can't take a satisfactory photo, you can find a travel photo shoot in the hospital, the price is not expensive, the service is good👌🏻 [Fun] Not religious, but like architecture. Children will find it boring, but like to feed and chase pigeons🕊️😂😂😂 [Value for money] It used to be free🆓 but now it's charged, 💰13 is not expensive. You can buy tickets in advance online. Convenient and fast
Gude Temple is located in the urban area of Wuhan. Line 1 and Line 3 are nearby, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the temple. Gude Temple has the Heavenly King Hall, the Great Hall, the Juehuan Temple, the Guanyin Hall, the Sutra Library, etc. Although the Gude Temple is not large, the ancient Greek temple-style architecture and its quiet environment make it worth a visit on weekends. The four-faced Buddha enshrined in the temple can be worshipped. It is said to be very spiritual. This may be the reason for the strong incense! The four-faced Buddha, also known as the four-faced god, represents mercy, benevolence, fraternity and justice.
