August in Wuhan is very hot. The Yellow Crane Tower light show at night was also very lively, with crowds of people, mostly families with children on summer vacation. The heat and the crowds were a real test for the children.
Luckily, I was alone, so I moved freely and flexibly, enjoying a dazzling light show amidst the heat and crowds.

Visiting Qingchuan Pavilion at midday in August isn't a good idea. But for me, it was simply a matter of following my heart.
From Qingchuan Pavilion, one can gaze upon the Yangtze River. In August, the river, under the blazing sun, appears listless and silent. Yet, the pictures and texts exhibited at Qingchuan Pavilion testify to the magnificent history of how the Chinese people bravely fought against the floods.
Qingchuan Pavilion is a pavilion, and admission is free. Connecting to it is a gatehouse and the Dayu Palace. At midday in summer, there are few tourists; one can sit, walk, rest, and reflect on the fleeting nature of time.华力2020East Lake is Wuhan's garden, offering different scenery in each season. In spring, hundreds of flowers bloom, creating a pleasant landscape; in summer, gentle breezes carry the scent of lotus blossoms, providing a cool and comfortable respite; in autumn, the reflection of the moon in the water evokes a poetic scene; and in winter, the wind, frost, rain, and snow add a unique charm. East Lake is a favorite recreational spot for Wuhan residents, where both adults and children can find relaxation and enjoyment.
小金犇A gentle evening breeze, carrying the unique moisture of the Yangtze River, brushed against the gunwale as the cruise ship slowly departed the dock, gradually unfolding the night of Wuhan. On the river, shimmering waves meandered along the wake of the ship, like scattered diamonds, reflecting the lights that lit up one after another on both banks—the eaves of the Yellow Crane Tower were adorned with a warm yellow halo, like a jade palace floating in the night; the neon lights along the riverbank stretched along the shoreline, intertwining with the lights of the rows of buildings on the opposite bank, weaving a flowing galaxy of light and shadow.麋鹿布迷路Rich and Diverse Cuisine: Known as the "No. 1 Lane for Han-style Snacks," it features classic Wuhan delicacies like Cailinji Hot Dry Noodles, Sijimei Soup Dumplings, and Laoqianji Bean Silk, as well as national specialties like Nanjing Duck Blood Vermicelli Soup and Changsha Stinky Tofu, catering to diverse tastes.

Hubu Lane sees significant traffic, averaging approximately 80,000 visitors per day on weekdays and surging to 130,000 on weekends. During peak tourist season, the crowds are even higher, creating a bustling atmosphere.
The best time to visit is during the early morning or evening hours on weekdays in spring and autumn, when the weather is comfortable and the crowds are moderate. This allows for a deep experience of the "Guo Zao" (early morning snack) culture and nightscape while avoiding the crowds. However, the karaoke function on the ferry didn't work properly; I tried several times without success. Climbing the Yellow Crane Tower at night, with its light show, must be even more beautiful than during the day. From the top, you can also see the bridge spanning the Yangtze River. I highly recommend this iconic landmark to first-time visitors.
