Important mining memorial
Pretty view from overlook. Lots of informative information to read to understand the tragedy. Really sad knowing that many of them survived yet ran out of oxygen waiting to be rescued.
Well worth the short trip up the hill in Butte to visit this monument to the brave men that perished in the tragic event. The view from the site is also spectacular.
Felt the core samples under my fingertips. Could see the copper and mica and other metal the miners were looking for. Heard the stories told from the past from the speaker. Looked out at the vast open...

My mom and I were in Butte and had an hour to kill. We drove up to the memorial and it was definitely worth the stop. The view is neat (it was partially obscured by smoke from Canadian fires though). ...
