A Great Entrance!
I was there in the summer of 2019. When you walk through it, you will be in the castle district where you will find many old buildings like churches. I didn't stop to inspect the history of the gate...
Not medieval
This gate is "new" as a homage to the victims of WWI. Built in 1936 and it was restored in 2013. This marks the entrance to the Castle Hill complex.

Though you can enter the Castle from Óváros Square via the Heroes' Gate, it was not part of the medieval castle. It originates from 1936 (restored in 2013) - commemorating the victims of World War I....
