Piazza delle Erbe

The Piazza Baicao, also known as Vanilla, sounds sweet and greasy, but it is one of the lively venues in Verona's old town, which was used for civil arbitration and political gatherings in Roman times. Today, the day is a market of life, tourists like weaving, the night is a souvenir market, brightly lit. The buildings around the square are mostly preserved in the medieval and Renaissance periods. The style of the house is different, and the buildings are all Venice once ruled here for more than 4 centuries. The "flying wing lion" stone pillars on the site are a witness to this history.

After visiting Juliet's former residence, Baicao Square is the next stop. Relaxed strolling around the square's market, eating fruit and ice cream, admiring the old Renaissance architecture, a very leisurely town. Red sightseeing cars have also become a beautiful scenery.

Plaza Baicao is a great place to go, a place you will pass many times when you go to Verona. You will also eat there, perhaps more than once. There are many stalls for tourists that occupy too many places in the square. I've seen Baicao Square when there's no stalls, and it's much better and more beautiful than when there's stalls. But you'll love it anyway.

Located in the peninsula (La Presqu'le), the largest red earth square in Europe and the third largest square in France. There is a tourist information center, a good place for people to relax, and the center of the square is the statue of Louis XIV. 

Baicao Square is the center of Verona's old city, standing many old buildings, including the towering Lambelti Bell Tower (Torre dei Lamberti), the Baroque facade of Marseille (Palazzo Maffei), the Mazanti Palace with the paintings of the Renaissance exterior walls (Case Mazzanti), Typical medieval building Merchant House and the ancient Virgin Fountain of Verona and so on. Now it is full of restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops and various markets, and it is very lively.
