Peru ~ Green paradise under the Andes Mountains
Peru is a country with multiple races, languages, and cultures. It is located in the northwest of South America and has become one of the most valuable tourist destinations in the world. The diversity of its residents and natural conditions provides various methods of land use and forms a remarkable fusion of culture and landscape, which is the birthplace of Inca culture. Its diverse natural environment, Amazon rainforest, Andean plateau Inca ruins, and the world's highest Lake Titicaca make Peru a year-round tourist destination with abundant choices for travelers.
Machu Picchu
The ruins of the ancient city of the southern Inca Empire in Peru are the most famous tourist destination in Peru and a UNESCO-approved human cultural heritage site. "Machu Picchu" means "old mountain top" in the Inca language. It is located on a plateau 112 kilometers northwest of the capital of the ancient Inca Empire, Cusco, surrounded by mountains and steep cliffs on both sides of the ancient city, with the turbulent Urubamba River below. The area is 13 square kilometers and the altitude is 2,280 meters. It is estimated to have been built four to five hundred years ago. After the Spanish invasion of the American continent, the ancient city was abandoned and remained undiscovered due to its high mountains, steep roads, and dense jungle.
In 1911, it was discovered by Hiram Bingham, a professor of South American history at Yale University. The ancient city streets are narrow, but arranged neatly and orderly. The palaces, temples, and platforms are magnificent and spectacular, and there are also workshops, fortresses, etc. They are mostly built with huge stones, and the size of the stones is tightly fitted, not even a blade can be inserted.
Go. On the towering pyramid stands the Temple of the Sun, managed by virgins. The walls of some noble residences have rectangular or triangular window sills leaning against the mountains, high, wide, and neat; there are also stone water storage tanks, which lead mountain springs into them for drinking. The sundial excavated here shows the high cultural level of the ancient Inca Empire. Archaeologists have also excavated thousands of Inca remains and skulls here, with each male remains buried with 10 female remains in a radial pattern. Many symbols and marks unknown to humans are carved on the ruins.~
An unforgettable experience of Mother Nature and the greatness of Inca Empire. A must visit !
this is my second trip to Machu Picchu. last trip by train and this trip by hiking and cycling. The Inca Jungle trek to Machu Picchu is by far the most adventurous trekking option in the Cusco region. It is also the most varied in terms of activities. In addition to jungle trekking, there is a massive downhill mountain biking section. There is also the opportunity for more exhilarating experiences like white water rafting and zip-lining. The tour finishes on a high with a visit to Machu Picchu.
Machu Picchu, known as the "lost city" of the Inca Empire, is 120 kilometers from the then capital Cusco and sits on a steep and narrow ridge between the most difficult peaks of the Andes and the peaks of youth, at an altitude of 2,400 meters. Machu Picchu was the Inca ruler Pachakuti around 1440 It was established and inhabited until the Spanish conquest of Peru in 1532. It was discovered by American historians in 1911, and attracted world attention.
A must-go place in life. The journey will be more difficult and it is a journey of exploration. The terrain is steep and the scenery is spectacular.
The ancient city of Inca, although the road is far away, it is worth a visit. You need to buy tickets in advance and collect tickets in Cusco. It is best to book with Warner Picchu. Warner Picchu has time limits because the steep slope of Warner Picchu is narrow.
The entire site, towering over a ridge about 2,350 meters above sea level, is a relic of Peru's famous pre-Columbus Inca Empire built in the 15th century and one of the world's new seven wonders. Machu Picchu, in Quechua, is the meaning of "old mountains" and is also known as "lost Inca city", a well-preserved Inca relics of the pre-Columbus period. Machu Picchu is the most important archaeological excavation center in South America and is therefore the most popular tourist attraction in Peru.
