During the free travel in Tokyo, Japan, we stayed at the Chinzanso Hotel and checked in at the Tokyo Cathedral of St. Mary across the street from the hotel. Tokyo Cathedral of St. Mary is located in Sekiguchi, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo. The church was built in 1899 and is a Gothic wooden structure. It was burned down during World War II. It was later rebuilt in 1955 with the assistance of Cologne, Germany, and its designer was Kenzo Tange. Even if you are not a Christian, you will feel inner peace in the quiet atmosphere of the church. Not to mention, the building itself is worth seeing. The church's structure consists of eight walls, which also serve as the roof, enclosing the church's interior space. The only opening is a large vertical crack. It combines Western concepts with Eastern culture and sentiments to create a very special building.
