About 10 minutes’ walk from Morishita Station on the Tokyo Metro this small temple is way off the tourist trail. It’s a small temple with a modern building. It’s not the temple building that is of int...
It is said to be a temple built by Jiroemon Kobayashi, who pioneered the neighborhood and produced seaweed. It was a beautiful temple. Kazuhisa Watanabe, the chief priest of the Meiji period, seems to have made achievements as a scholar.
When I took a walk around the Ryogoku area from Kiyosumi Shirakawa, I stopped by Saikoji Temple. The main hall was a modern building and the precincts were very beautiful. There was a garden in one corner and hydrangeas were just in bloom. I took a walk when it was hot and humid during the rainy season, so it was very helpful to have a place to rest in the shade.
There was an explanation board set up by Sumida Ward.

I stopped by when I took a walk around both countries. Go north from the Shin-Ohashi intersection in the east end of Shin-Ohashi-dori, turn right at the next traffic light, Shin-Ohashi 2-chome intersection, turn left immediately, and proceed to the temple of the Jodo sect on your right. An explanation board installed by Sumida Ward stood. The current main hall was said to have been built in 1995, and it was impressive that it was a modern main hall building.

History
Although it has a fair history, it is disappointing that the building itself is a modernization that is often seen recently.
