Tendai sect temple in Tochigi city
Original Text
During a drive trip to the Tochigi area, I also went to the Tendai sect temple "Koshoji" in Tochigi City. It's in the mountains, so I had to climb, but I felt the power with plenty of nature. The "three-storied pagoda" was especially beautiful.
There aren't many people who have come to the memorial service, but I visited without much thought while there are Danke who have come to the memorial service. The parking lot on the hillside and the top of the mountain was not so crowded on Sunday, but I parked my car in the parking lot near the railroad tracks and climbed 600 steps. When I went up, there was a place like an observatory with a good view, and when I went further, I saw a three-storied pagoda, and I was surprised that there was such a big temple on the rocky mountain. There is a Danke on the equinoctial week and the sutra is also chanted, ...
I parked my car in the parking lot just in front of the gatepost carved with "Iwafuneyama". The stairs continue, so if you climb while taking a break, there is another parking lot on the way and there is something like a rest area with a roof. If you go further up, you will see the road to the cliff used for filming movies on the left. I will come. When you go up the stairs, you will arrive at the precincts, and there is a guide board for the scenery that you can see from there, and according to it, you can see the Sky Tree in the distance on a sunny day. Unfortunately, that's the day ...
Since steep stairs and slopes continue, I gave up going to the shrine at the top of the mountain, and only the mountain gate near Iwafune Station was visited. I remember climbing this temple when I was in junior high school and there were magnificent temples and towers.
It is a famous temple as one of Japan's three major child-rearing and child-giving Jizo statues, with a history of more than 1200 years since its foundation. When I went up the fairly steep stairs for about 10 minutes, there were fine halls and three-storied pagodas in the precincts, and it was the season when the autumn leaves began, so it looked even more beautiful.

A steep staircase is a great view
