Henry B. Plant Museum

The mobile ancient building next to the University of Tampa Museum was originally the Tampa Bay Hotel built by Henry B. Plant. It opened in 1891 and has 511 rooms. The hotel is also equipped with Florida's first elevator, which is still in operation today. The building is made of reinforced concrete, a classical and fireproof classical building. The hotel covers an area of ​​150 acres and includes a golf course, bowling alley, racetrack and an indoor heated swimming pool. The whole building is very exotic, with six spires and four domes. At the same time, the installations in the hotel are also very distinctive, with many European artworks installed. Now only a small part of the decoration is retained in the museum. You can see Rococo-style bronzes, furniture, clocks, tapestries, paintings and vases. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum also has special exhibitions. When I came here, I encountered the sports goods war in the Gilded Age. The theme of the month can be found on the official website. Opposite the building is a lawn and fountain. The fountain was built in 1995 and carved from stone. It is also one of the oldest public art in Tampa.

Located in Tampa University, the scenery is beautiful. The museum is relatively small, the external architecture is old, and the historical charm is strong. Opposite the Tampa Museum of Art, the Children's Museum, River walk, the attractions are concentrated.

It looks like a low-key museum, but it exhibits many precious cultural relics.
