Original Text
It is located in a townscape that is typical of Takaoka, and all the neighbors call it "Kannonji". No one in the local area called Sojiji Temple. It is a wonderful temple surrounded by magnificent board walls and has an atmosphere. However, because it is a temple of the Shingon sect, it is a minority temple in Toyama Prefecture, the kingdom of the Shinshu sect. There are few Danke, and the priests rarely go around the Danke. The locals use this temple to consult the priest for life.
Sojiji Temple is a Shingon sect temple located about a 10-minute walk from Takaoka Station. It is near Zuiryuji Temple, the family temple of Toshinaga Maeda (the second feudal lord of Kaga). Many stone Buddhas are lined up on the wall along the road. It is a picturesque landscape. It is said that the Senju Kannon statue of this temple is designated as a national important cultural property (former national treasure), but unfortunately it is usually a secret Buddha, so you cannot see it. In 1609, the name of 'Takaoka' was named 'Takaoka' by the order of toshinaga at that time.
