#churches
The Cathedral of the Good Shepherd stands as a striking figure against the bustling cityscape, especially as night falls. Located at the heart of the city, this architectural gem not only serves as a place of worship but also becomes a captivating sight under the cover of darkness, offering a tranquil respite from the urban rush.
Illuminated Elegance
As night descends, the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd is bathed in a warm, welcoming light that highlights its historical facade. The gentle illumination accentuates the intricate details of its neo-Gothic architecture—from its pointed arches and ribbed vaults to the beautifully crafted stained glass windows that glow vibrantly in the night. This majestic lighting not only enhances the structure's grandeur but also creates a peaceful aura that invites contemplation and reverence.
Historic Sanctuary in the City
This oldest Roman Catholic church in the city, the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd, is rich in history and spirituality. At night, the hustle of the city seems to quiet down around it, allowing the sounds of the evening mass or the soft hymns that occasionally drift through its open doors to provide a soothing soundtrack to the surrounding area. The cathedral serves as a beacon of faith and history, standing proudly as a landmark that has witnessed the evolution of the city around it.
A Haven of Peace
Visitors and locals alike are drawn to the cathedral's grounds at night, where the serene atmosphere offers a moment of pause and reflection. The well-maintained garden and courtyard, softly lit by ambient lighting, make for a perfect setting for quiet walks or sitting in peaceful contemplation under the starlit sky.

The church's white exterior is not very big and is also a landmark among the surrounding buildings. There were not many people inside at noon, but the surrounding area was quite prosperous and lively, with many restaurants and cafes.
A church very close to Bugis Village and the hotel where I stayed. The church was under repair so I couldn't go in to visit. It's an older church with good greenery around it.
A very small church, but I didn't expect it to have such a long history. It is a very quiet place with its own independent yard. The lawn and trees are well maintained. The small scenery is pleasing to the eye. It is located in a downtown area.
This cathedral has been completely renovated in the last 12 months and is modern, bright and attractive. It is basically a rectangle with small theme parks around it that take up most of its space, such as the Martyrdom Garden, the Skull Park, ... In addition to the main building, there is an interesting underground chapel. On either side of the front sanctuary there are the chapels and the Joseph's Chapel, adjacent to the small cross-shaped wing. The windows are ordinary, except for the stained glass semicircle at the top. There is a large statue of Christ on the cross, who is looking behind the altar. I am very happy to have visited this modern church in Singapore.
The Cathedral of Sander has been completely renovated in the past 12 months, and it is modern. The light is well surrounded by small theme gardens and there is an underground cathedral. The windows are very ordinary except for the semi-circle of stained glass on the top. There is a huge statue of Christ on the cross. The priest of the church is a high-ranking clergyman from Rome.
The Cathedral of Sander was built in the Renaissance and is now one of Singapore's national monuments. The beautiful golden statue of John Paul II is situated outside the Garden Building. There are two other white statues with simple interior decoration. There are only a lot of fans without air conditioning.
The Cathedral of Saint-Martin is a Romanesque building. The white building is very beautiful, and its tall spire is also a landmark in the surrounding area. Not many people visit it. Maybe it was the noontime, and there were not many people in the church.
