Shima Marineland

Is a great attraction as these animals usually look well cared for. It is busy inside when visiting on rainy days, but the space inside is large enough to not feel too crowded. It was fun watching staff with penguins and sea lions reading around the venue, which gave them the opportunity to interact more closely. I wasn’t quite sure about the touch pool for octopus. It was an interesting experience. However, it seemed that no staff were watching it and the octopus was not happy with being touched. The aquarium did not have time to perform and feed, but I had no chance to watch any animals during the visit. For international visitors there are maps and information sheets in English and signs around the attractions, but more details about the exhibits are only in Japanese. If you are in the area, the aquarium is worth a visit. However, I will not go to the bird feathers just to visit this aquarium.

It was the best aquarium ever, close to the animals and not crowded. I also want to visit slowly.
