based on 315 reviewsThis is just one of many churches in Seville that has a statue of the Macarena of the Virgin Mary. It is one of the statues that is held for various festivals. You wait in a long line to climb the stairs and get a close up view of the statue from the back. Little mirrors reflect her face in the corners. Inside the church you get a better view from the front. To me it looked like a mannequin with crystals, tears and some fancy robes, but it is a local affair. The tall burly Spanish gentleman standing in front of us had tears running down his face and had to be carried away by guards. So I guess your level of religious faith is a big factor in how much you like this. This church is out of the way and is an easy walk from other places so you can catch a taxi.

Magdalena Church, located in the south of Seville, is a long-standing Baroque style church. Magdalena Church is simple and simple, not as grand as other churches in the area, but when you go there, people will feel inexplicable quiet.
Iglesia de la Magdalena is a Baroque church built between 1691 and 1709. Formerly known as the Dominican Monastery, it is one of the most important Baroque buildings in Seville. The dome of the church is decorated with patterns of early American style, with a big bell in each of the three arches of the bell tower. In the church, you can enjoy the murals painted by Lucas Valdes and the works of Roldan, Ocampo, Leal, Zurbaran and other masters.
It is one of the most important Baroque buildings in Seville. In the complex space of the block, sunlight penetrates the cornices of the ridge.
There is history, there is the inside story, is the kind from birth.
