The autumn colors are mesmerizing. Admittedly, they vary from year to year depending on weather conditions. This year, the summer was unusually long and dry, so the autumn colors were not as good as last year. It was also a cloudy day with almost no sunshine, so the visit was a bit disappointing. Fortunately, when I was photographing the Uhwajeong Pavilion, the sun came out momentarily.

Hyangwonjeong is located in Gyeongbokgung Palace and is also one of the more beautiful back gardens in Gyeongbokgung Palace. It is located in the backyard behind the sleeping palace, on an artificial island built in the middle of the lotus pond, and Hyangwonjeong is on this small island. From a distance, Hyangwonjeong looks like a hexagon, because in Korea, six symbolizes water, and pavilions built by the pond often have six in their names. The Zuisang Bridge in the distance complements the pavilion and its reflection in the water, adding to the elegance and beauty that makes people linger.
