Prophet Daniel Mausoleum

The Prophet Daniel's Mausoleum is one of Samarkand's revered but controversial relics. Daniel was revered by Islam, Christianity and Judaism at the same time, but he returned to Samarkand after his death. Daniel was born in the holy city of Jerusalem in 603 BC. In the early days, he was diligent in studying science and interpreting dreams. Because of his extraordinary wisdom, faith, and talent, Daniel was later made a prophet and a saint. There are many versions of the story about the origin of the mausoleum, but unfortunately there is no conclusive evidence. The existing six-dome mausoleum was built at the beginning of the 20th century and is located on the famous Siab River. In the mausoleum, you can see the 18-meter-long coffin of the prophet.
