烏蘭察布草原

Ulanqab Grassland is located in the central part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, bordering Hebei Province in the east, Xilin Gol League in the northeast, Shanxi Province in the south, the capital city of Hohhot in the southwest, Baotou in the northwest, and Mongolia in the north, with a total area of ​​54,000 square kilometers. Ulanqab means "red cliff" in Mongolian. It is located in the temperate zone and has a continental monsoon climate with distinct four seasons. The terrain consists of four parts from north to south: the Mongolian Plateau, Ulanqab Hills, Yinshan Mountains, and Loess Hills. The Daqing Mountain, a branch of the Yinshan Mountains, and the Huitengliang stretch across the middle, while the branches of the Manhan Mountain, Matou Mountain, and Sumu Mountain are winding and tortuously distributed in the southeast of the territory. It is customary to call the part south of the Daqing Mountain the front mountain area, which is relatively warm and has more rainfall; the part north of the Daqing Mountain is called the back mountain area, which has a special windy climate.
