Bolívar plaza, Pereira is the city's central square, covering approximately one hectare and surrounded by financial and commercial buildings. Built in the early 20th century, it serves as the heart of Pereira. The square is paved with granite and lawn, and features a bronze statue of the "Naked Bolivar" at its center, symbolizing liberty and equality. The statue is tall and imposing, with the horse's hooves raised high. The square is shaded by palm trees and bustling with people, showcasing the city's vitality. The square is rectangular in shape. To the north stands the Nuestra Señora de la Pobreza Cathedral, its wooden dome and stained-glass windows reflecting the square's beauty. To the east are the City Hall and cultural center, to the west is a commercial street, and to the south is a pedestrian zone.
