I'm back from Liupanshui, and I really don't recommend going in May
Hey, everyone 👋! I just got back from "China's Cool City," Liupanshui! Who says it has to be scorching hot 🔥 in May? The average temperature here is 20℃, so comfortable that I didn't want to leave! The windmills on the Wumeng Prairie, the fresh greenery of the ancient Ginkgo trees in Tuole, the aroma of the hot pot... everything is incredibly appealing! 📍 Liupanshui, located in western Guizhou, is known as the "World's Summer Capital" because of its pleasant and cool summers 🌤️! Here, you'll find magnificent alpine meadows, deep canyons and caves, and rich ethnic minority customs. In May, Liupanshui is full of lush grass and flying birds, with azaleas blooming all over the mountains. You can experience the same beautiful scenery as seen in "Aerial China" and enjoy delicious local food. It's simply a heavenly travel destination!

⚠️ Tips
1️⃣ There is a large temperature difference between day and night in Liupanshui in May! Bring a light jacket 🧥, and sunscreen and windproof gear are also essential~
2️⃣ The ultraviolet rays on the Wumeng Prairie are strong, so bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses!
3️⃣ There is a lot of oil smoke in the hot pot restaurants, so it's recommended to wear clothes that are resistant to dirt, and spray some deodorant spray after eating~
4️⃣ The signal is weak in some scenic spots, so download offline maps in advance and prepare cash!
My friends, the coolness and deliciousness of Liupanshui are really worth experiencing in person! Quickly save this guide and set off~💨
The scenery is beautiful, but there's some traffic. Traffic jams happen because some people think they're smarter than others and skip the line, overtaking from the side lanes and blocking oncoming traffic. I've taken photos of these cars skipping the line and exposing them, hoping to foster public scrutiny and promote social progress. We can't always let those who skip the line take advantage while those with public morals suffer.
This is the location mentioned in Chairman Mao's poem "The Long March." "The Five Ridges wind like gentle waves, the Wumeng Mountains are majestic and majestic, rolling in the mud." The great man's words are imbued with revolutionary passion. Back in 1935, at a time of national crisis, a group of Red Army troops, filled with revolutionary ideals to transform the world and build a new China, began their journey in the mountains of Jiangxi and Hunan. They were then forced into the Long March by counter-revolutionary encirclement and suppression. Eighty years ago, in today's peaceful times, have become a beautiful sight before our eyes. The hardships endured by the Red Army have become the roads we now face, the natural barriers we face now, and the world has been transformed! Arriving at the Wumeng Grassland, we'll find farmhouses and hotels along the way, each with its own cattle and sheep slaughterhouse. Herds of cattle and sheep abound, leisurely grazing amidst the blue sky, white clouds, and verdant mountains and clear waters. Here, too, there are groups of horseback riders and herders grazing their cattle. Galloping on horseback through the alpine meadows was such a joy... The road winds along, filled with seas of clouds, mountains, horses, cattle, sheep, and people unfettered by their own freedom, as well as tents and RVs of all colors. There are also campsites and people trekking up the canyon. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the people taking photos and checking in admirably embellish the beautiful scenery, a true reflection of the people's yearning and pursuit for a better life! The road may be long, but the journey will eventually lead to the destination! We also rode the bus through the rolling hills, letting our eyes take in the scenery and our hearts wander freely. Someone played "To the Clouds," which was perfectly fitting! Everyone sang and sang, taking in photos and checking in on the Cloud Plank Road. Occasionally, cattle and sheep would approach, unfazed. Many people drove along the mountain roads, but some cars unfortunately got stuck, causing traffic congestion in some sections. The weather in the mountains is unpredictable. Just one moment, the sky was clear, then suddenly it was overcast. From time to time, clouds would blow in, and then a moment later, a steady rain would fall... Perhaps this is the beauty and magic of the Wumeng Grassland. It's said that around 4 p.m., the Tyndall effect occurs, where sunlight scatters through clouds. If you're lucky, you might even witness the Buddha's light shining brightly. Due to time constraints, we didn't see it. We continued on our journey, passing through lush green mountains and clear waters, and then walked a long, poorly maintained road before reaching the Beipanjiang Bridge, said to be the world's tallest bridge at 600 meters. This is a great victory for our country's infrastructure, and it's a testament to the fact that mountain dwellers have transformed natural barriers into accessible roads, no longer feeling overwhelmed by the sight of mountains.
A cool utopia next to the Wumeng Prairie✨Shanyuan Yunshe B&B Family, who understands the fear of being dominated by 40℃ high temperature! Fortunately, I discovered Shanyuan Yunshe B&B next to the Wumeng Prairie, which is simply a god-level existence for summer heat escape! 🌳 The B&B is hidden in the green mountains and forests. Looking up, the mountains are full of green. The breeze blows and brings a hint of coolness, instantly driving away the heat. 🏠 The room is clean and tidy, and the details are carefully considered. Liupanshui is already very cool, but Wumeng Prairie is even more comfortable, with a summer temperature of only 11 degrees. For us who come from 40 degrees, it is simply heaven. Wumeng Prairie is an alpine meadow with herds of cattle and sheep, green grass, wild flowers everywhere, and beautiful scenery. The homestays near the tourist center are cheap, and many outsiders stay here to escape the summer heat. It is not expensive and cool with food and accommodation included, which is really good. I like it.
Wumeng Prairie is located in Liupanshui City. It takes about an hour to drive from Panzhou City and Liupanshui City. The road conditions are very good. It is very convenient to park in the town at the foot of the mountain and on the top of the mountain. It is very suitable for self-driving tours. The scenery is very beautiful, especially suitable for summer and autumn when the weather is clear. The top of the mountain is very flat, with huge alpine meadows and three alpine lakes, like pearls. There are many wind turbines arranged along the ridge line, and the landscape of man and nature is harmonious and unified. There is a small town at the foot of the mountain, and it is very convenient to stay and eat in the town. There are also many places to live on the top of the mountain, including a characteristic hotel transformed from a container, a homestay near the cliff where you can watch the sunrise and sunset, and an RV camp. The scenic area is very large, and it takes about a day to see every attraction by self-driving. The walking plank road alone is more than ten kilometers long, but it is worth taking the time to walk around and see it. It is very beautiful. The grassland is a place to play all year round. You can see the sea of rhododendrons around Qingming Festival in spring, the green grass in summer, the colorful forests in the mountains in autumn, and the snow-covered mountains in winter. There are also two ski resorts on the grassland, which are suitable for friends who like skiing. The tickets for the scenic spot are also very cheap. Now it is half-price. A car only needs 30 yuan for environmental protection fee to go up the mountain. The cost-effectiveness is very high, the scenery is very beautiful, and the transportation is very convenient. It is a scenic spot worth visiting.
Very good scenic spot, you can drive in, alpine grassland, mountain roads are well built. It's a bit like Inner Mongolia, you can play while driving, and it feels like traveling abroad. You can park next to the scenic spot and get off to play. The aerial glass slide rafting is fun, you can ride horses, fly kites, and see the Buddha's light (the two days we went there were sunny and cloudless, so we didn't see it). The RV we stayed in at night is a bit special, but the facilities are a bit simple. This place is unlike most scenic spots in China. The gate is closed at the gate, and cars are not allowed to enter. They charge battery car fees and scenic spot transportation fees, and then you have to queue up and squeeze into the car. No matter how good the scenery is, I don't want to go.
I went to Liupanshui, China's cool capital, to escape the summer heat, and by the way, I visited the Wumeng Grassland, the highest and largest grassland in the southwest region. There were herds of cattle and sheep on the grassland, and the green grass was growing pleasingly. Standing on the grassland and looking at it, the vast grassland had no end in sight. The undulating landforms on the grassland, under the sunlight, looked like endless blue waves, very spectacular!
Three cups of tea, two light drinks, sunset, wind, I accompany you and this thousands of gestures, thousands of tastes. I peel off this deep sorrow that you left me first and sent you a long Pavilion without asking about the journey home. The days before were very light, very warm, wrapped in light fireworks, day after day, year after year, if you were still against the light and I was carrying the sea, I would like to walk away gently for a while before the flowers could open, like a slight April parade. The autumn blossoms of windy hills are gentle but you never want to be quiet. Every autumn leaves and fallen flowers rhyme with your appearance because you go with the people you like. The most beautiful memories are all here. Although my story after him is not beautiful, I can't help but admire the vast and magnificent highland whenever I think of it. It's worth going.
