The Rideau Canal is also the central river of Ottawa. This river has a long history and you can experience many projects here. The canal is very long and passes through several cities. It is also an important means of transportation. The canal is very wide and there are many bridges here.
The trail mainly runs north-south along the canal. I love riverside and canal trails in the UK. The scale and width of the Rideau Canal is more like a UK river, very large. Beautiful scenery, no trash, and friendly cyclists and joggers. This is a "must do" activity in Ottawa! I highly recommend it!
The beautiful Lido Canal crosses the city, giving the international city a leisurely life style. The canal has charming scenery all year round. The most beautiful season should be the grand Tulip Festival in spring. The canal is full of tulips presented by the Dutch Royal family, which makes people happy.
This river is more than 200 kilometers long from Kingston to Ottawa and was an important project in the 19th century. We climbed up the hill behind the Ottawa Art Gallery to overlook the canal in Ottawa. Ottawa is on the south side of the river, and you can see the back of Parliament Hill. Gatineau, the French-speaking area, is on the north bank of the river. We also saw locals putting yachts into the canal one level at a time through the locks.
The Lido Canal is a waterway connecting the capital Ottawa and Kingston. In winter, it is known as the longest skating rink in the world, with a total length of 12 kilometers. The canal has beautiful scenery along it. It's really comfortable to walk along the canal in the evening.
The Lido Canal is very beautiful. It's very long. It's more than 200 kilometers long. The water quality of the canal is very good and the water is very clean. The canal contains 47 stone sluices and 53 dams. It's free to open. If you don't rush to the canal and suggest to take a boat to drift on it, it's really beautiful.
