based on 1384 reviewsThe building is ancient and magnificent, and it was awe inspiring. We were lucky that the Basilica was hosting a female choir, so we had the opportunity to listen to their joyful singing while exploring the amazing stained glass windows and ornate columns. Although there was a long queue to enter, we waited for 20 minutes, but it was worth it.

Notre Dame Cathedral in Ottawa is located near Parliament Hill, opposite the Canadian Museum of Art, and across the street from the big spider in front of the museum. Every time I wander around Sussex Street, I pass by this church, but unfortunately I have never gone in to see it.
Notre Dame Cathedral in Montreal refreshed my understanding of churches. When I first came here, I saw that the door was closed and I thought it was closed. I came back two hours later and found that it was still closed. I asked people and found out that here you have to push the door and pray quietly.
Although both are Notre Dame Cathedrals, the one in Ottawa is far inferior to the one in Montreal. Of course, it is still great for taking photos on a sunny day, but the church is closed all year round and not open to the public (of course, it may also be that I didn’t find the door), so I could only take photos outside.
This church is really large, and the space inside is also spacious, but for some reason there are very few people, even tourists. You can quietly visit the beautiful arrangements inside.
