A quiet literary museum that makes you feel the glory of Otaru before the war
Original Text
I think it's a wonderful way to spend a wonderful time away from the hustle and bustle of tourists and immerse yourself in the scent of literature in the tranquility. Takiji Kobayashi, Sei Ito, and Takuboku Ishikawa's corner make you feel the glory of Otaru before the war. Hayao Kawai was involved until his death. I think you can feel the depth of Otaru's literary culture in the donated books that can be taken home.
Otaru City has not yet recovered from the slump in tourism due to the corona disaster. Because there are no overseas tourists. Therefore, there were quite a few restaurants other than famous stores (1/2 or more) because of weekdays, or closed. Under such circumstances, there is a small old building with the Otaru City Literature Museum and an art museum in front of the former Jnr Temiya Line in a corner with many historical buildings. Unlike the hustle and bustle outside, it is quiet enough to have more staff than visitors. Exhibition writer ...
We exhibit artists related to Otaru, such as Sei Ito and Takiji Kobayashi. The original Otaru Regional Savings Bureau, built in 1952, is used, and this building has a simple, rigid and simple taste. The special exhibition is also very educational.
The weather was bad, so I went around only boxes. I visited here as part of that. I didn't have an image of literature in Otaru, but Takuboku Ishikawa seems to have a considerable connection. His handwritten letters were on display. The admission fee is cheap, so if you have time and are interested in literature, I think it's important to go.
Literary Museum / Museum Common Viewing Ticket 500 Yen. The Literary Museum is on the building 2 floor. Photography is very good. Literature scholars related to Otaru such as Takuboku Ishikawa, Takiji Kobayashi, and Sei Ito are Tashisai 々. Full of literature photography. The impact on Takiji Kobayashi such as the death aspect is great.
