In a middle of a dark night...

We went there in middle of a dark night in jungle, ... And this made it fun. Don't expect too much though. If you are fan stone sculptures and Buddha you might like it

Construction was underway near the entrance. I was asked by the security to tell me where to park. It seems that some people come to take pictures occasionally. The statue is wonderful.

    beyond morioka elementary school

    Original Text

The stone Buddha in Oita, where many stone Buddhas remain, is located on the small mountain where Morioka Elementary School is located on the right bank between Hirose Bridge over the Oita River and Funai Ohashi Bridge. Further ahead of the elementary school, which is located on the steep slope, you will go down the stairs from the signboard at the entrance of the curved stone Buddha. Please note that this staircase is slippery. It was explained that this group of stone Buddhas was built from the late Heian period to the Kamakura period and the Muromachi period.

As you go down the narrow road in the mountains, the Gorinto was carved on the wall on the right and the Makai Monument was carved on the left. There are many cliff Buddhas in Oita, but it is strange that they were dug in such a place.

    Silently.

    Original Text

If you go along the street of the information board, the road will be from the middle ... I will go down the mountain road completely. It may be slippery with moss and leaves. There was a stone Buddha quietly in the dim light. It was good to be able to feel the atmosphere of those days instead of being paved.
