A person named Tamaki Miura is born in Meiji 17 and is said to be the first opera singer in Japan to gain international fame. Puccini's opera "Madame Butterfly" is especially famous. Nagasaki is the setting for this "Madame Butterfly", so there is a statue here. There was a statue in a small park-like place in the middle of the large Glover Garden.
