The ruins of Zaodo Castle are now Zao Park, Kinpu Shrine, Anzenji Temple, etc. I stopped by when I went to Nagaoka in August. Although there are no castle buildings left, the moat centered on the main enclosure, Ninomaru, earthworks, etc. remain, and it is designated as a cultural property of Nagaoka City.
