The Kursk Nuclear Submarine Monument, located in Murmansk, Russia, was built to commemorate the sunken "Kursk" nuclear submarine and its crew. It is part of the Murmansk Sailors Monument. The monument to the nuclear submarine Kursk sank in an explosion at sea in 2000, killing more than 100 people on board. In 2001, the Kursk was salvaged. To commemorate the more than 100 victims, the government cut part of the nuclear submarine command room as a monument.

Very nice view, submarine wheelhouse fragment.
I suggest to visit the monument, they put a submarine wheelhouse fragment and built a chapel as a lighthouse.
The site is really inspirational and affords good views of the harbour too. It is within walking distance of the city centre for someone of reasonable fitness

Memorial
We had no idea this is a memorial until we got really close. It is eye catching, and worth climbing up/down all the stairs.
Sad and beautiful reminder
A bit difficult to reach by public transport. You have to walk some to get there. Well chosen location for a memorial, great view of the city.
