    Nice Museum

The Red Rice Museum is modern and comprehensive, and dedicated to the history of red rice cultivation on the island. Most of the information is in Japanese.

There is an exhibition of red rice, and it is free.

When you think of ancient rice, you can think of black rice, but red rice is one of the ancient rice, and there is an exhibition about them, and admission is free. There aren't many exhibits and you can see them in a short time, so why not stop by as a set with visiting Homan Shrine? There is a parking lot and the toilets are clean.

It is also recommended to stop by before sightseeing in Minami Seeds

It is a facility just opposite Homan Shrine. It's a magnificent building, but admission is free. It's basically a red rice museum, but you can also know about Minamitane Town.

It is a museum of Minamitane Town near Toyomitsu Shrine. In Honshu, purple black rice is familiar when it comes to ancient rice, but there is a reddish color rice called red rice in Tanegashima, and it is quite delicious when mixed with white rice and cooked. It takes about an hour and is worth a stop.

I happened to find it on the way from the hotel to Cape Kadokura and stopped by. 15 minutes until the museum closes at 17:00. The staff was cleaning up, but they explained it carefully. In the hall, there were 々 materials and real items related to red rice on display, and I was surprised at the length of the rice. It's a pity that red rice amazake ice cream is sold out! !! After that, on the way to Cape Kadokura, there was a large countryside that I had never seen before.
