I think it’s completely worth it, all the art and history that goes through the walls of the cathedral, also the steps you put in while going up the hundred stairs, gorgeous views and experience. Please note that they are currently under renovation so a few parts aren’t available to the public
The spires on the rooftop terrace of Milan Cathedral are truly breathtaking, but you need to climb stairs to get up there. Also, the roof was under renovation, making it difficult to get good photos. You might regret not going up to see these spires up close. The towering stone columns inside the cathedral are even more impressive than the roof. To take photos of the front of the cathedral, you need to stand at a certain distance.
Overall is good. But just that day i went was a drizzling day abit ruin the environment, the floor is wet with steep stairs which you have to climb to reach the top to see the view.
Milan Cathedral, this magnificent building, is undoubtedly an architectural treasure of Italy and even the world. It is not only a city landmark of Milan, but also a part of the world cultural heritage, and is famous for its unparalleled Gothic architectural style. From the outside, the Milan Cathedral is soaring into the sky, with spires stacked one after another, like a huge stone sculpture standing on the square, which is breathtaking. The exterior of the church is covered with exquisite marble carvings, including statues of biblical stories, angels and saints, showing a high degree of artistic skills. According to statistics, there are more than 6,000 marble statues in the entire church, of which 3,159 are located outside the building. It is the Gothic church with the most statues in the world, so it is also known as the "Marble Mountain".
Milan, Italy is a vibrant hub for fashion, design and culture. It is home to iconic landmarks such as the Duomo di Milano, the Sforza Castle and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. As a global fashion capital, Milan offers world-class shopping experiences, especially in the "Quadrilla Moda". "It's also known for its rich art history, from Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper to contemporary galleries like the Triennale Design Museum. Plus, Milan has a lively food scene, featuring traditional dishes like risotto Milanese and cotoletta. There are also plenty of beautiful Christmas trees everywhere. Here are some must-do activities in Milan: 1. Visit the Duomo; this iconic Gothic cathedral is the heart of Milan. You can explore the interior and climb to the rooftop for panoramic views of the city. 2. FAZ Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II: Just next to the Duomo, this elegant shopping pavilion is filled with luxury brands and cafes. It's one of the oldest shopping malls in the world. 3. See Leonardo's The Last Supper Da Vinci: Head to the Santa Maria delle Grazie Monastery to see this world-famous fresco. Be sure to book your tickets in advance. 4. Wander around the Sforza Castle (Castello Sforzesco): This historic fortress has several museums and offers insights into Milan's medieval and Renaissance history. 5. Wander around the Parco Sempione: Next to the Sforza Castle, this beautiful park is perfect for a relaxing walk or picnic. You can also visit the Arcodella Pace on the edge of the park.
Milan Cathedral is amazing! The Gothic spires reach the sky, and the exterior walls are beautifully carved like lace. The panoramic view from the top is amazing, and the stained glass windows inside are breathtaking. There are many people queuing but it's worth it, remember to buy tickets in advance. The only downside is that the vendors outside are a bit annoying, but it is definitely a must-visit place in Milan!
Milan is really not much fun, but it's really a stop to miss. Even for a cathedral. Please be ready for half a day. Big cities have convenient transportation, and the doorway is the well-known Duomo subway station. Previously, I saw a lot of online ticket purchase in advance, but I did not know how to buy the cathedral ticket, and it was not cost-effective. Ok in English or recommend to buy tickets directly at the ticket shop. Ticket office management is very orderly, is the purchase of tickets + gift shop two in one. It's worthwhile to get to the top of the cathedral. The decisive purchase is a 16 Euro/bit Domo Pass A ticket, including Cathedral+Terraces by lift+Duomo Museum+Archaeological Area+San Gottardo Church. It's still easy to get anywhere. Although it is the elevator passage, we arrived at about 10:30 a.m., or a 15-minute queue, acceptable, more comfortable than walking to the top. There are Chinese promotional pages available at the ticket vending place. It's clear at a glance. With security checks, the elevator is fast. 160; the weather is super powerful, and the scenery is infinitely good. Compared with the rain of the previous day, the church became more beautiful with the blue sky and white clouds on the day when it reached the summit. It's amazing to see these five hundred years of lacy Gothic architecture at close range. How delicate the sculptures are in the details. From top to bottom, the sculpture is full of complexity and exquisiteness. Walk slowly and pat on top for about an hour. After getting off the elevator and taking the fast way to visit the interior of the church, I immediately remembered that the melody decoration and design of "painted glass windows, decorated with Gothic churches." were very artistic, and the whole church itself was a work of art. The archaeological area seems to understand or not, but you might as well go down and have a look. If you have time, don't forget to visit the Cathedral Museum. I think it's interesting. Come out and go straight to the gift shop, the price is more conscientious. T-shirts are not expensive around anything. A Swarovski necklace, 29.9 Euros. If the church doesn't mean anything, then feeding pigeons in front of the square will be very nostalgic. If you don't bring snacks, you may be entangled by Xiao Hei to buy food.
First of all, the Milan Cathedral is very worth seeing. The Gothic architecture is very spectacular and delicate. The church is magnificent in scale and visual impact. The surrounding buildings are also very worth seeing and complementing the church. But pay attention to the large number of people in Milan Cathedral Square and pay attention to take care of your own finances.
