The reading hall is quite impressive, with many people going upstairs to take photos and check in. The design of the other reading rooms next to it is also very beautiful, and they have their own exhibition halls and exhibits. It is a good learning atmosphere. The outside of the library is very lively.
Known as one of the most beautiful libraries in the southern hemisphere, the State Library of Victoria is definitely a must-see attraction in Melbourne. It was built in 1854 and combines classical architecture with modern facilities. The iconic Latrobe dome reading room is like a magic academy. Retro long tables and green table lamps are displayed under the octagonal dome, which is definitely a good place to take photos. There are more than 2 million books in the collection, including Chinese books. What's more valuable is that it is open to the public for free, and it is full of compatriots who come to check in. 🚶 Recommended tour route: 1️⃣ 📸 Check in the dome: Take the elevator directly to the 6th floor to take a panoramic view. The light shines through the glass dome, and the atmosphere is full. The best ones have to line up to take photos! 2️⃣ 🖼️ Exhibition area: Permanent historical manuscripts and theme special exhibitions, feel the cultural precipitation, many people come here to "pretend" to work hard! 3️⃣ ☕ Cafe break: The cafe in the museum is suitable for daydreaming, and it is more comfortable with the fragrance of books 🚌 Travel suggestions Transportation: Take the tram 🚇 to La Trobe St/Swanston St station (in the free zone), or walk 3 minutes from Melbourne Central station. The homestay we stayed in was in the city center, so we decided to walk 🚶 there, and we could also experience Melbourne's city 🌆 culture along the way 🈺 Business hours: Monday to Thursday 10:00-21:00, Friday to Sunday 10:00-18:00.
Free to visit, no, it should be called free admission. The library, which was originally supposed to be a quiet space for reading, is now full of tourists taking photos and checking in! The library is large and beautiful, an old and beautiful building that is well worth a visit!
My trip to Australia during the Spring Festival of 2016 did not amaze me most about the ancient mystery of Ayers in the Central Plains. It was not the work of twelve disciples on Ocean Road, but the Victorian State Library in Melbourne. I think I'm a learning child, so I'd like to spend a whole day in this library and tease my colleagues that if there was a library like this in the city where I live, I would have been admitted to Harvard! (Although there are no libraries like this, I also got into Columbia University. Haha is so smelly.) Sandalwood desks and chairs on the second floor of the library lending area look classical. I have been to many universities in different countries and cities, where the libraries also have their own characteristics. The Library of Lund University in Sweden, Copenhagen, the library of London politics and economics, has never been. The Library of such a city is so attractive. Every detail of the library, which was built in 1856, is arranged with vivid and soft lights. People unconsciously breathe and forget the noise. The library is situated in the busiest central area of Melbourne. The government invests a lot of manpower, material and financial resources every year to maintain the ancient library knowledge and technology. It is a change. The country or the most powerful weapon of an era Australia, as a country of immigrants, can rapidly develop into one of the most developed countries in the world in a short period of time. This country's devotion to science, technology and culture is inseparable. I envy the people here because I can't find such a place in Beijing to calm everyone down in this impetuous society. Reading a green desk lamp is like a beacon of culture. How happy it is to be able to read in such an environment.
The National Library of Victoria is a must-visit place every time I come. Although it has not changed, it is still a place to yearn for.
Weizhou Library, in the central business district can have such a large area of public welfare infrastructure and art exhibition is really very praised, outdoor passers-by lie down, indoor open and bright. Of course, free is always the most expensive thing you know. Melbourne is really a city of culture, let me be brightened by the light of wisdom. If this is the case in domestic libraries, then I must be a scholar-tyrant.
