It has become one of the city's landmarks, surrounded by lush green parks that enhance its peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. Although the mosque is incredibly captivating, unfortunately, only Muslims are allowed to enter. While I would love to personally experience the ambiance of this religious site, I understand that as a sacred place used multiple times daily, it should not be disturbed by the noise of numerous tourists. I respect the sanctity of this religion and appreciate the cultural value it represents.

Marrakech is the third largest city in Morocco, named after its ochre-colored ancient city walls, and is one of the most important ancient capitals in history. 🚗 The drive from Casablanca to Marrakech takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. 🔵 Jardin Majorelle: Tickets are only available online, MAD 170 per person. The garden is not large and is surrounded by blue and green. Strolling along the winding paths, you can admire various rare plants, especially the uniquely shaped cacti. Blue Villa: Now the Berber Museum, the villa, framed by blue and yellow window frames, makes an excellent photo backdrop. Memorial Pool: In the center of the garden is a long pool reflecting the blue buildings and green plants, the best spot for classic reflection photos. Wall of Love: There is a wall in the garden engraved with "LOVE" in different years, also a popular photo spot. ☕️ Café and Bookstore: There is a café at the garden entrance for a break. The bookstore and boutique are also worth visiting, offering exquisite books and unique souvenirs. 🕌 Koutoubia Mosque: The mosque is currently under renovation and closed to the public; visitors can only walk around the exterior. There is a small garden next to the mosque for sightseeing. BACHA COFFEE: Praised by the media as the "Hermès of coffee," it is itself a museum. Entry requires a MAD 10 ticket, and there is a wide variety of coffee. We purchased a 250g single-origin Colombian coffee for MAD 395, which is quite pricey. 🌃 Jemaa el-Fnaa: The night is bustling with street food stalls, performances, and snake dances, resembling scenes from "One Thousand and One Nights." Vendors are everywhere trying to attract customers. For safety, we chose a restaurant with a terrace to enjoy the night view of the square while dining. 🏨 Riad Dar Justo Hotel Boutique & Spa: Located in the old Medina's ancient alleys, this hotel is a traditional Moroccan courtyard house dating back to the 14th century. It was once the residence and studio of Spanish artist Justo Almendros and is also very photogenic. Two nights in a suite cost CNY 1148.50 per person, with a city tax of MAD 190. Luggage must be handled by hotel staff; it is recommended to prepare small change in advance to tip MAD 100. 🍴1️⃣ Bazaar Café: The restaurant uses organic ingredients and locally grown produce, offering a variety of vegetarian and vegan options, with an average cost of MAD 120 per person. 🍴2️⃣ Dar Chef: Located in the old city, decorated in traditional Moroccan style. The average cost is MAD 65 per person. The chicken pie is on the sweeter side and not very to our taste; overall, the flavor is average. 🍴3️⃣ L‘ETOILE DU MUSEE: Average cost MAD 69 per person, the beef is tender and good value. The restaurant terrace offers a night view overlooking the square.

A significant place for religious activities, one of the tallest, most beautiful, and largest mosques in Marrakech is the Koutoubia Mosque, a spiritual beacon built in the 12th century during the Hispano-Moresque period. It is known for its luxurious simplicity, crafted by the Almohad dynasty using pink stones to construct the walls, including a rose-colored tower that stands 77.3 meters tall, adorned with a golden arrow and sphere at the top, visible from up to 25 kilometers away, and surrounded by a garden of green and red roses. The interior is decorated in a modern style, with pointed arch windows embellished with ceramics, and the halls are well-divided for various events. The construction of this masjid took over 40 years, starting from 1150 AD, and the prayer room can accommodate up to 25,000 people. Unfortunately, this place was severely affected by a major earthquake in Morocco at the beginning of September 2023.
