Anonymous userYou really have to get up early to see pandas. We went around noon and everyone was still sleeping in. It wasn't as interesting as the pandas we'd seen before... We queued for almost an hour to see Hua Hua, but they were still sleeping at 2 PM. We ended up only getting to see their butts for 5 seconds before leaving...

siyi677A certain level of cultural understanding is needed to truly appreciate Du Fu and his thatched cottage. Even a visit to Du Fu's thatched cottage that sparks his interest, prompts him to recite his poems, and helps him learn about the events surrounding his life is worthwhile.

难 得糊 涂The Sanxingdui Museum, located in Guanghan City, Sichuan Province, China, is a specialized archaeological site museum primarily dedicated to the collection, preservation, research, and display of precious artifacts unearthed from the Sanxingdui site. The discovery of the Sanxingdui site is hailed as "one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century," revealing a mysterious and brilliant ancient Shu civilization dating back approximately 4800 to 3100 years (the late Neolithic period to the late Shang Dynasty), fundamentally altering our understanding of the early landscape of Chinese civilization.
The museum is situated in the northeast corner of the Sanxingdui site, a national key cultural relics protection unit, and was initially opened to the public in 1997. To meet the growing demands for exhibitions and research, a new building (exhibition hall) officially opened to the public in July 2023. Its building area is five times that of the old building, with significantly increased exhibition space and the number of exhibits.
Core Highlights and Features
1. The Mysterious Ancient Shu Civilization
The Sanxingdui civilization, independent of the Central Plains Xia and Shang civilizations, possesses an extremely unique cultural character. The unearthed artifacts are bizarrely shaped and magnificent, imbued with a strong religious and mysterious aura, showcasing an ancient kingdom where divine and royal power were intertwined.
2. Stunning Bronze Artifacts
**Large Bronze Standing Figure:** Standing at 2.62 meters tall, this is the tallest and most complete extant bronze standing figure in the world, hailed as the "King of Bronze Statues." His hands are clasped in a circle, the mystery of which remains unsolved.
**Bronze Sacred Tree:** The restored No. 1 sacred tree stands at 3.96 meters tall, making it the largest bronze artifact unearthed in China to date. The tree has three tiers, nine branches, and a sun bird motif, and is considered a physical embodiment of the "Fusang" sacred tree from ancient mythology.
**Bronze Mask with Protruding Eyes:** The mask features columnar, protruding eyes and extremely exaggerated ears, its magnificent design considered an embodiment of "clairvoyance and clairaudience," possibly representing an ancestral god or sun god worshipped by the ancient Shu people.
Gold Masks: Several gold masks were unearthed, including one incomplete half-mask that still weighs approximately 280 grams and contains about 85% gold, showcasing the superb gold-working skills of the ancient Shu people.
3. Rich Categories of Cultural Relics
In addition to the world-renowned bronzes, the museum also exhibits a large number of exquisite jade artifacts (such as jade zhang, jade cong, and jade ge), ivory, gold artifacts (such as gold scepters), and pottery. The "national treasure team," including newly discovered sacrificial pits since 2020, such as the tortoise-shell-shaped grid vessel, bronze altar, and kneeling human figure, is also on display for the first time in the new museum.
4. Modern Exhibition Design
The new museum utilizes immersive multimedia, large-scale scene restoration, and digital interactive technology to create a mysterious and awe-inspiring viewing experience for visitors, bringing the ancient artifacts to life.

Anonymous userThe location is quite convenient, with a subway station nearby. The park isn't very large, but it has a rich cultural heritage. You can experience the culture of the Three Kingdoms period. Jinli Ancient Town is also nearby, which is worth a visit. Overall, a good experience.

散漫旅行This area is quite selective and particularly appealing to those interested in Buddhist statues, scripture, stone carving, Tang and Song dynasty history, and eastern Sichuan architecture. Anyue County boasts a rich collection of stone carvings, with Yuanjue Temple, the Reclining Buddha Temple, and Pilu Cave being must-see attractions. Driving within Anyue is also quite convenient.

不会飞的熊猫猫Ms. Li Rong's explanations greatly enhanced this trip. Her explanations were insightful yet easy to understand, and she cited numerous historical examples. I believe she is one of the top guided tour guides I've had at museums, and I highly recommend her. The overall quality of the guided tours is exceptionally high.
