The Great Begum House in Leuven is a former Begum House in the south of the old town. It was built for the women of the twelfth century. At the ends of the cradle of the house, the images of "Jesus Birth" and "Doctors of the Three Coming" are carved. It was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1998.

Probably after the Crusades left a lot of widows, through the church organization, these poor women gathered together to live (not necessarily as nuns). So until now, it is a more religious neighborhood. There are several churches in the middle. Walking here in the morning, it feels very good, very special and very quiet. The area is basically stone paved roads, it is best to wear sneakers to go.
