Dual purpose power station
Shinyanagihara Power Station on Kurobe River has the purpose not only to generate electricity but also to control the flow of water particularly during rainy period. You can have a glimpse of the Sta...
It is located at Yanagibashi Station, where you will depart from Unazuki Station on the Kurobe Gorge Railway and stop at the first stop. Located on an artificial lake called Lake Unazuki, the building seems to have been designed with the image of a castle floating on a European lake.
I took the Kurobe Valley Railway and made a round trip from Una to Usagidaira. On the way, you can see this power plant across the valley. It is a power plant like an old castle in Europe.
It is a hydroelectric power plant near Yanagibashi Station (not stopping) of the trolley train. I looked at it from the train window of the trolley train, and it had a fairy tale appearance that reminiscent of a stone castle in medieval Europe.
Located along the Kurobe Trolley, the Shinyanagihara Power Plant is a waterway power plant. The lake surface below and the appearance like a European castle are really wonderful.
