based on 21 reviewsIt wasn't just teasing the cats and dogs; we were still having a great time. I was so startled by a giraffe that suddenly stretched its head out so enthusiastically that I fell on my backside. It probably thought my green shoulder-standing plush toy was its food, not because it liked me so much. I was such a coward. It felt like we were just part of their entertainment.
Yunnan Wildlife Park is located in the northeast of Kunming City, covering an area of 2800 acres. It is the first new type of tourist attraction in Yunnan Province that focuses on wildlife conservation research, tourism observation, and popular science education. The mountains in the park are undulating and the trees are lush. Based on the abundant natural resources in Yunnan and central Yunnan, we simulate the original ecological landscape and create an open space environment. In more than 10 exhibition areas with rich content and unique structure, we implement natural release and mixed breeding of wild animals, showcasing a natural, primitive, wild and simple style.
The exhibition area is mainly divided into rare animal area, African tribes, Sky City, Swan Lake, herbivorous animal release area, Giant Panda Pavilion, Giant Bird Forest, Lion and Tiger Mountain, Peacock Garden, and Cute Pet Area. The display of animals mainly focuses on species from Yunnan and Southwest China. While highlighting the unique animals of Yunnan, rare species from Africa, America, Australia, Asia and other places are introduced, creating a "Wildlife World" consisting of more than 100 species and over 10000 wild animals. Truly allowing visitors to experience the affinity for life of "harmonious development between humans and nature".

We love Zoos and have been to zoos all over the world. However, this might be our favorite experience! The animals are well kept and everything is clean. The tigers are amazing! Our kids loved every second.
Fantastic! This trip to the Yunnan Wild Animal Park far exceeded my expectations, and I must give it a huge thumbs up! The environment is beautiful, and the animal welfare is evident. Upon entering, I was immediately drawn to the lush greenery and cleanliness. The paths are wide and clearly marked, so I didn't get lost at all. What surprised me most was that most of the animal enclosures were very spacious, simulating natural habitats. I saw tigers strolling on artificial hills, monkeys leaping nimbly through the trees, and flamingos leisurely preening in the wide water. The animals looked to be in great spirits, with glossy fur and natural behavior, indicating they are well cared for, which was truly heartwarming and touching. The interactive experiences were plentiful, combining fun and education. The zoo designed many interesting interactive projects. Moreover, each exhibit had very detailed and vivid informational panels, as well as regular animal behavior demonstrations and explanations from the keepers. Not only did children learn something, but even we adults were engrossed, truly achieving edutainment. The service was attentive, with attention to detail. The park's facilities were also excellent. There were plenty of benches in the rest areas, and the restrooms were well-distributed and clean. There was a variety of dining options. The staff were incredibly friendly, patiently answering all questions about directions and animals. The numerous tall, green water fountains were a welcome touch on the hot summer days. Overall impression: This is definitely a place worth visiting again and again! Whether it's a family trip, a romantic date, or a gathering with friends, you'll find enjoyment here. It's not just a place to see animals, but a paradise where you can relax, connect with nature, and learn. It's wonderful to see such a dedicated and caring zoo. Five stars! I'll definitely be back!
Yunnan Wildlife Park||It was my first time to go to a wildlife park. The guide was not detailed. I only saw that I could bring some carrots to feed the small animals. I didn’t see where to feed them. All people entering the park first entered the park through the gate, walked through a sightseeing area and a self-paid interactive area, and then took the bus (to see various birds and monkeys, and voluntarily spend money to buy designated feed to feed alpacas, raccoons, and parrots). We took the sightseeing bus for the whole journey. The sightseeing bus route was divided into three sections. After sending you to each tourist spot, tourists need to walk a section of the plank road to see various small animals or interact with small animals at their own expense. After the play, go to the boarding point of each journey to scan the code to take the bus (one code means scanning once for each of the three journeys), and then the sightseeing bus will take people to the next tourist spot. There is no extra zoo area on the way. It is a pure road, with various ups and downs, left and right turns in the forest. If you are lucky on the road, you can meet an official staff member to explain, you can listen to it. ‼ ️Don’t feed food to small animals randomly. They are not that smart. They will not tear open and skim off the plastic bags of food packaged in plastic bags. Eating them is life-threatening. Find out whether the small animals are herbivores or carnivores. If you get it wrong, they won't eat. Alpacas and raccoons can be fed with carrots. Alpacas are on the first section of the walking trail. If you bring carrots, it is recommended that you don't take the sightseeing bus for the first section. You can feed the carrots on the way. Raccoons are in the cute pet park at the third section. We played there for four hours and walked more than 10,000 steps. We had a lot of fun!
It is the best choice to visit Yunnan Wildlife Park during off-peak hours. Both the experience and comfort are great! ! The location is a little remote, and you can come directly from the airport. The self-driving parking lot is charged, and there are lockers for luggage that can be used by the hour. The tickets are the same for each platform. When you enter the door, you can get close to various animals, feed the carrots of Big Bear and Little Bear, lure the little raccoon, etc. After an hour of sightseeing, you can take the sightseeing bus in the park to move to the next area. If you bring children, it is quite interesting to spend some money to get close to the small animals. The eyelashes of the giraffe are really beautiful! ! The whole journey takes about 5 hours. It is very comfortable to walk in the forest. There are basically no mosquitoes at present.
Others recommended that you visit the Yunnan Wildlife Park when you go to Kunming. It was not disappointing. You must take a sightseeing bus to save time. You will not miss various animals if you get off the bus and walk along the road. I like this kind of planning. There are many kinds of animals. The children like it very much. At the end, they can chase and feed the peacocks.
Yunnan Wildlife Park is located in Jindian National Forest Park, Panlong District, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, 7 kilometers away from Kunming City. Yunnan Wildlife Park was opened to the public on May 1, 2004, covering an area of 2,800 acres. It is a new tourist attraction in Yunnan Province that focuses on the breeding, viewing and display of wild animals, integrating sightseeing, science education and ex situ conservation. Yunnan Wildlife Park features the theme of displaying Yunnan's "Animal Kingdom" and raises more than 200 species and more than 10,000 animals, including giraffes, rhinos, giant pandas and many other rare animals. Yunnan Wildlife Park is now a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, Kunming Environmental Protection Science Park, and Panlong District Wildlife Science Demonstration Base
Yunnan Wildlife Park has rich animal and plant resources. The natural landscape and animal habitats in the park are well maintained, as if entering a natural large animal kingdom. When you enter the park, the first thing that comes into view is the vast grassland and forest, where many rare wild animals live. Visitors can observe tigers, Asian elephants, chimpanzees, etc. up close by walking or taking a car. The animal exhibition areas here are divided according to natural habitats, and each area allows animals to live in a close-to-natural environment. Especially in the beast area and bird area, visitors can see a wide variety of animals and feel the joy of close contact with wild animals and plants. The most favorite is the animal performance and interactive session, which is both educational and fun. The whole experience is exciting and fulfilling.
