An Underwater Adventure in the Heart of Kuala Lumpur
If you're exploring Kuala Lumpur and looking for a family-friendly, awe-inspiring experience, Aquaria KLCC is an absolute must-see. Located just beneath the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, this world-class oceanarium offers a unique glimpse into the mysterious world beneath the waves—right in the heart of the city!
Home to over 5,000 aquatic and land-bound creatures, Aquaria KLCC takes you on a journey that spans from Malaysia’s highland rivers all the way to the deep blue sea. The exhibit is thoughtfully designed as a “Journey of Water,” guiding visitors through different ecosystems—from freshwater rivers and lush rainforests to mangroves, coastal shores, and finally, the open ocean.
Highlights you won’t want to miss:
🦈 The 90-meter Underwater Tunnel – Walk through this transparent tunnel and find yourself surrounded by sand tiger sharks, giant stingrays, and sea turtles swimming gracefully overhead. It’s both relaxing and exhilarating!
🐠 Feeding Sessions – Time your visit with one of the scheduled feeding shows to watch professional aquarists hand-feed sharks, otters, and piranhas. It’s not just fascinating—it’s educational, too.
🪸 Interactive Touch Pool – Perfect for kids (and curious adults!), this area lets you get hands-on with sea stars, sea cucumbers, and more. It’s a great way to engage with marine life up close.
📸 Great for Photos – With vibrant tanks, glowing jellyfish, and dramatic lighting, Aquaria KLCC is an Instagrammer’s dream.

There are some big reef tanks with gigantic sea creatures. Some tanks keep common species just to keep them filled i guess. Crowd control is bad as people were forced to stand on a slow conveyor in the tunnel section. At the exit, there is a long line as visitors are forced behind the photo booth even if they do not want to take photo.
Great opportunity to have a moment with kid and learning about our earth, habitat, and ocean. Also right place for awareness to protect our mother earth.
KLCC Aquarium — Nice Experience but Room for ImprovementVisited the KLCC Aquarium and overall had a pleasant time, especially the famous underwater tunnel. However, the tunnel felt a bit short, and the variety of rare sea creatures was less than expected. The place is clean, family-friendly, and easy to navigate. Kids will still enjoy the experience, and the educational displays are helpful. But if you’re expecting a long tunnel or many unique and rare marine animals, you might find it a little underwhelming.Still a decent spot to spend an hour or two, especially if you’re already around KLCC.
Located near the Petronas Twin Towers, B1 of the exhibition hall, it is closer to KLCC by taking the subway. You can enter directly with the QR code when buying tickets with Klook. I like the touch area the most, and you can touch sharks. The underwater tunnel is very long, but the air is stuffy because there are so many people. The whole aquarium is not big, but it is enough to visit with children, and it can be visited together with Central Park and KLCC.
Aquaria KLCC is a premium attraction in Kuala Lumpur's golden triangle area. When located in the business district, visitors must be prepared to pay premium prices as well. Before I tell you about my experience at Aquaria KLCC, I included the price first. AQUARIA KLCC TICKET PRICE PRICE Adults: Normal RM53, Mykad - RM40 Children (3-12 years): Normal Rm42, Mykad - RM30 60 Years Above: Normal RM32, Mykad RM30 Station Aquarius - RM5 per person
This time, the hotel was located in the city center. It takes 3-5 minutes to walk from the hotel to the aquarium. Maybe it was during the New Year's Eve and holidays, so it was packed with people. It took 30 minutes to line up. It's not very big inside, and it takes about 1-2 hours to walk around with children. Compared with domestic aquariums, the scale and grade here may not be enough, but the variety of fish and the cleanliness of the environment are not available in China. Adults pay 65 Malaysian ringgits for a ticket, which is a card. After swiping the card at the door, it will be taken back. There is no ticket to keep. There are at least two places where you can take photos for free. You can choose not to take photos, or you can take photos without taking them. If you like, you can pay a little money to take them.
Having my industrial training in Aquaria KLCC two weeks ago and I am so thankful to Dr .Sarah and the staffs for teaching me lots of knowledge and hands-on experience about the aquatic😍 This will become one of my unforgettable and meaningful experience during my vet life
The glass tunnel leads you through the huge aquarium. You can walk up to the wall and let the fish approach you, which I think is worth visiting this part. On the other hand, some of the aquariums look small and desolate with lots of fish in them. Also, when I visited, there were staff behind the entrance who would invite you to actually touch live sea cucumbers and small fish.
