The entrance fee was very reasonable. Ample parking right in front of the zoo, along the main road (proper parking lots). We spent about 3 hours in the Zoo, found it really interesting. It was surprising to see so many different species of animals, and we could feed the camels. Good for photography. Kids will truly enjoy visiting this place.
the Kids will absolutely love it! if you are someone who prefers a smaller zoo this one is perfect. you can explore about 1-2 hrs.
There are many kinds of animals in this zoo, many of them are rare animals. Red-haired orangutans, Malay bears, gibbons, Sumatran tigers, yellow and blue macaws, parrots, gold parrots, elephant turtles, etc. The key is that the tickets are only 2 ringgit, equivalent to 3 yuan, too great value, must not be missed.
I visited Johor Zoo recently, and it turned out to be such a fun and affordable outing! Located just 1 km from the Johor Bahru city center, the zoo is easy to find and perfect for families or anyone looking for a laid-back experience. At only RM 2 for adults and RM 1 for kids, it’s a steal for the variety of animals and activities it offers. The zoo isn’t huge—it spans about 12.5 hectares—but it’s packed with over 100 species to see.
The Johor Zoo is a gift from the Istana Johor to its people. Its original name was the Palace Zoo. The zoo was established in 1928, making it the oldest zoo in Malaysia. Located in the heart of Johor Bahru city, this zoo has an area of over 32 hectares and houses more than 100 species of animals. This strategic location makes it easy for visitors to access the zoo, whether from within or outside the state.
