When craving Korean BBQ while visiting Jeju Island, you have to check out Black Pork Street. The street is actually not that long at all, but when walking down it you will notice that most of the restaurants there are barbecue restaurants, and they all serve delicious cuts of black pork to grill (which Jeju is well known for). We were pretty worried about the language barrier when choosing a restaurant, but the one we chose had staff who made us feel so welcomed and helped us a lot to order everything we needed. When you learn about Jeju Island, you must have heard about the famous Black Pork Street in Jeju. It is within walking distance from the Dongmun Market and the street is lined with lots of restaurants serving BBQ black pork. We tried one of the famous restaurants here, the symbol of a black pig with pointed ears is unmistakable. The menu is quite simple, the main dish is black pork. You can order meat by weight, thick meat, or thinly sliced pieces. The set came with a free flow of side dishes and fresh vegetables such as kimchi, pickled radish, seaweed, spicy raw fish, spicy raw crab, raw garlic, mushrooms, bean sprouts and more. You can wrap the bbq black pork with Perilla leaves with a little raw garlic, kimchi or some other fresh vegetables and salt. Super delicious!
